Dunnyneill Islands

The Dunnyneill Islands are privately owned which lie in Strangford Lough approximately 2.5 kilometres to the northeast of Killyleagh. They are a pair of islands linked by a causeway at low tide.

The larger island, known as Dunnyneill is a drumlin with a boulder clay core. It is roughly D-shaped.  There is evidence of an old ring fort and there is many a myth and legend about Dunnyneill and many experts have studied the islands.
