Strangford Lough & Lecale Partnership with approval from the South East Area Fisheries Local Action Group are commissioning consultants to develop a Business Plan for local consumption of locally caught seafood and related local, quality agricultural produce.

The plan will intergrate with tourism and hospitality opportunities for visitors to sample and appreciate locally caught seafood, emanating from a quality marine environment.

The long term aim is to provide economic benefit to the Strangford Lough & Lecale area by increasing the local sale of seafood, providing ideas for business based on the core sea fishing traditions and local agriculture, promoting artisan food production, developing the maritime heritage tourism and hospitality industry.

We will be providing updates and press releases as the project unfolds from Jan to June 2014.

You can find out more about our local fishing industry under the Heritage / Fishing Section.
