Heritage Management Strategy

Strangford Lough and Lecale is outstandingly beautiful with one of the world's finest examples of drumlin hill and islands landscapes.  It is of international importance for its marine life and coastal birds and it is renowned for its Christian and maritme heritage.

The landscape, built heritage and natural environment of Strangfordand and Lecale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are fundimental to the well-being and vibrancy of local communities.

Our heritage attracts and interests visitors, and generates wealth.

For these reasons, as well as for their intrinsic value,we must work together to protect and enhance our heritage, white fostering appropriate human activities and developments.

The SLLP has produced the area's first Heritage Management Strategy and we recommend you download it and the related Action Plan.

We would delighted to receive your feedback or comments and we will also hold an annual event for people to meet us in person and give us their views.

Sectorial and local interests are formally represented through the SLLP's Advisory Committee and the full list of organisations is provided under "Who We Are".
