Forest Expansion Scheme
We are pleased to be able to let you know that the Forest Expansion Scheme [fifth phase] has been opened today for planting in 2019/2020 and the press release is available on this link https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/news/forest-expansion-scheme-reopens-applications. Applications for the Forest Expansion Scheme must be submitted to Forest Service by 12pm on Monday 30 September 2019.
The Departments website has been updated with new scheme documentation however, there are no changes to scheme criteria. One specific area that you should make yourself familiar with is in relation to the grassland definition which has been reduced from 50% of the sward to 25% and consisting of either single or in mixture, ryegrass, timothy or white clover. Cocksfoot has also been removed as one of the grasses.
