Strangford Lough Island Clean-up with the National Trust Rangers and Volunteers Strangford Lough Island Clean-up with the National Trust Rangers and Volunteers

On Wednesday 16th October 2019 we had the pleasure of partnering with our colleagues in the Strangford Lough National Trust Ranger team rangers for a litter clean-up of two of the islands in Strangford Lough. What a great day for it! We couldn't have asked for better weather......or a more beautiful place to work!

In total we lifted over half a tonne of litter from just two islands,We found an assortment of stuff, from discarded camping equipment to old lengths of fishing rope, and of course all the usual suspects of marine litter that washes up with the tide.

Our thanks toLive Here Love Here for funding this clean-up. And also to Jeremy and Dessie of Cuan Marine Services who ferried us safely to and from the islands.

Most of all our thanks to the volunteers who joined us on the day! Litter lifting can be hard physical work but this group of enthusiastic volunteers made it look easy.
