Strangford Lough has a long history of water-based sport and recreation and it is expected that it will be developed further in the future for local and national economic gain, people's well being and health, and to allow people to enjoy and experience the Lough's landscape and wildlife in a way that is sustainable.
There are 12 Sailing Clubs around the Lough with regattas and other events held throughout the summer.
