Strangford Lough is surrounded by picturesque towns, villages, historic sites and visitor attractions and offers plenty of activities for the local people and visitors to enjoy both on and off the water.
Some parts of the Lough are not so accessible, particularly where there is a lot of mud or seaweed. These areas are however of tremendous importance for wildlife and the Lough's environmental importance has been recognised nationally and internationally.
We would ask you to help us to take care of it for future generations by following, The Northern Ireland Country Code.
For the thrill seekers among you, Castle Ward and Delamont have variety of activities that can be organised for active outdoor experiences for further information you can contact Mobile Team Adventure, Clearsky Adventure Centre and Action Outdoors.
More information on the activities available and chances to explore the area around Strangford Lough, can be found in the Ards Activity Guide 2010/2011and the Down Newry and Mourne Visitor Guide.
